Softball Recap: Calera Takes a Loss

Calera managed to slip by Chilton County the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Eagles lost 9-1 to the Tigers on Thursday. The Eagles' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Calera saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mia Wade, who went 3-for-4 with one double.

Calera's loss dropped their record down to 6-17. As for Chilton County, they are on a roll lately: they've won 21 of their last 25 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-6-2 record this season.

Calera will head out to take on Auburn at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Chilton County, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Benjamin Russell at 4:30 p.m. The last three games the Wildcats have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
