Volleyball Recap: Whitney Triumphs

While Whitney didn't have the best season last year (they finished 16-20), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Cosumnes Oaks Wolfpack on Saturday.

Among those leading the charge was Balin Sillence-Dhamrait, who had 20 assists and five digs. He has been hot for a while, having posted 12 or more assists the last 15 times he's played. Evan Kadoya also deserves some recognition as he had his first block of the season.

Whitney's victory bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Cosumnes Oaks, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-7.

Whitney has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 win against West Park on the 14th. As for Cosumnes Oaks, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Elk Grove at 5:30 p.m. on the 24th.
