Basketball Game Preview: Palm Beach Lakes Rams vs. Centennial Eagles

The Palm Beach Lakes Rams will venture away from home to take on the Centennial Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.

Last Monday, Palm Beach Lakes took their contest with ease, bagging a 52-17 victory over Royal Palm Beach. Given the Rams' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 131st, while the Wildcats are ranked 338th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Palm Beach Lakes to victory, but perhaps none more so than Laniya Hall, who posted six points in addition to 18 boards and three steals. The dominant performance gave Hall a new career-high in steals. Another player making a difference was Angelina Jean-Charles, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten boards.

Meanwhile, everything went Centennial's way against Vero Beach on Tuesday as Centennial made off with a 61-38 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

Palm Beach Lakes has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.3 points per game. As for Centennial, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Palm Beach Lakes ended up a good deal behind Centennial in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, losing 57-41. Can Palm Beach Lakes avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
