Holly is a perfect 9-0 against Walsh since January of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Holly Wildcats will host the Walsh Eagles at 4:30 p.m. Walsh took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Holly, who comes in off a win.
Last Saturday, Holly took their game with ease, bagging a 76-36 victory over South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett]. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 22 points or more this season.
Devin Eaton continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double with 29 points and 18 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Holly's points. Another player making a difference was Truman King, who went 8-for-15 on his way to 17 points and four steals.
Holly smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in February of 2024.
Meanwhile, Walsh was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. The match between them and Boise City didn't end well, with Walsh falling 66-47. The Eagles were down 54-29 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Holly will have to contain Samuel Wright as he made an impact in Walsh's last game. He posted 12 points and five steals. Those 12 points gave Wright a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Hudson Gourley, who almost dropped a double-double with ten points and nine boards.
Holly is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 37 points. As for Walsh, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-11.
Everything came up roses for Holly against Walsh in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, as the team secured a 63-31 win. Will Holly repeat their success, or does Walsh have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
