Football Recap: Washington Bulldogs vs. Carver Panthers
Washington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell to the Carver Panthers 12-6.
Carver found their leader in sophomore Janiyah Brunson, who rushed for 95 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries, and also threw for 48 yards and a touchdown. The dominant performance gave Brunson a new career-high in rushing yards.
Washington's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Carver, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Washington will host Coretta Scott King YWLA at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Carver, a feisty cat fight will be fought when Panthers takes on Jackson at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. They will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last.
