Basketball Recap: Cristo Rey Fort Worth Lions vs. Heritage Christian Academy Lions
This season hasn't been kind to the Cristo Rey Fort Worth Lions, who are still winless after their seventh match. They suffered a rough 41-17 defeat at the hands of Heritage Christian Academy on Tuesday. Cristo Rey Fort Worth has struggled against the Lions recently, as their match on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Heritage Christian Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Addelynn Reid out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Sara Spangler, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds.
Cristo Rey Fort Worth dropped their record down to 0-7 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Heritage Christian Academy, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cristo Rey Fort Worth will take on the Lions at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully St. Paul's Prep focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Monday. As for Heritage Christian Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Angels at 6:00 p.m. Burton Adventist Academy is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
