Softball Recap: Fisher Catholic Beats Grove City Christian for Their Fifth Straight Victory

Fisher Catholic entered their tilt with Grove City Christian on Tuesday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 15-10. That's more bragging rights for the Irish, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Mallory Stanton and Vanessa Funk did most of the damage at the plate: Stanton scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5, while Funk scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Harper Kline was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

Fisher Catholic hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 3-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Fisher Catholic pushed their record up to 5-4 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.3 runs over those games. As for Grove City Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.
