Basketball Game Preview: Gallup Bengals vs. Bernalillo Spartans

The Gallup Bengals will square off against the Bernalillo Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Gallup will head into Saturday's match out to bounce back: they won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Saturday. They came up short against Albuquerque Academy, falling 75-50. The loss continues a trend for the Bengals in their matchups with the Chargers: they've now lost five in a row.

Meanwhile, Bernalillo opened the new year with a less-than-successful 63-51 defeat to Del Norte. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Bernalillo now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Gallup, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.

Things could have been worse for Gallup, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 74-58 loss to Bernalillo in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Can Gallup avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
