Baseball Recap: Stevenson Picks Up Fourth Straight Win at Home

After losing to Belleville the last time they met, Stevenson decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Spartans came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 6-1 on Monday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Spartans.

Nate Patterson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

In other batting news, Joe Berry was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted over his last 13 games.

Stevenson pushed their record up to 16-15-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Belleville, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-13-1.

Stevenson will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Tigers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
