Volleyball Recap: Newsome Comes Up Short

Newsome was the 3-1 winner over Steinbrenner when they last played one another on Thursday, but their luck changed this time around. The Wolves took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warriors on Saturday. The Wolves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Leading Steinbrenner to victory were Emily Civitillo and Lexi Tschopp. Civitillo had five digs and two aces, while Tschopp had eight digs and two aces. That's the most aces Tschopp has posted since back in October of 2024.

Newsome's defeat dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Steinbrenner, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

Newsome wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Tampa Catholic on the 20th. As for Steinbrenner, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 loss against Academy of the Holy Names on the 20th.
