Basketball Recap: Syracuse Comes Up Short

Syracuse suffered their closest defeat since February 26, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Sky View Bobcats by a score of 45-42. The Titans were up 40-25 in the third quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Despite the loss, Syracuse still got an impressive performance from Maylee Anderson, who posted 15 points. Anderson's afternoon made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyleigh Nielson, who put up six points along with six assists and five boards.

Even though they lost, Syracuse smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in four consecutive contests.

Sky View's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mya Eskelson, who had 12 points and five assists. Mollee Allen was another key player, putting up nine points.

Syracuse moved to 8-2 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Sky View, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.

Syracuse didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 43-41 win against Bingham on the 3rd. As for Sky View, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 46-38 victory against Farmington on the 3rd.
