Softball Game Preview: Paraclete Spirits vs. St. Paul Swordsmen

For the second straight game, Paraclete will face off against St. Paul. The Spirits will host the Swordsmen at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Paraclete will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

On Thursday, Paraclete needed a bit of extra time to put away St. Paul. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Swordsmen, sneaking past 2-1. Those two runs were actually the fewest the Spirits have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

For St. Paul's part, Gianelle Napoles spent all ten innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on 12 hits.

On the hitting side, St. Paul saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kailee Mejia, who went 2-for-4 with one RBI.

Paraclete's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 22-2-1. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for St. Paul, they now have a losing record of 12-13.
