Soccer Game Preview: Irmo vs. Dutch Fork

The Irmo Yellow Jackets will challenge the Dutch Fork Silver Foxes at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Irmo's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Last Friday, Irmo came up short against Chapin and fell 3-1. While losing is never fun, Irmo can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 73rd, while Chapin are ranked third).

Meanwhile, Dutch Fork had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three last Friday. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was the Silver Foxes who were credited with the victory. Dutch Fork got it done in the shootout by posting eight goals to River Bluff's seven. One seems to be a good number for Dutch Fork as the team scooped up a win with the same number of goals in their previous game.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Max Werner, who's now up to ten this season.

Irmo's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Dutch Fork, their victory bumped their record up to 10-5.
