Soccer Recap: Advanced Tech Academy Comes Up Short

Advanced Tech Academy entered their game against Garden City on Saturday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Lakers came up short against the Cougars, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, Advanced Tech Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan soccer rankings (they are ranked 223rd, while Garden City are ranked 104th).

Advanced Tech Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2-2. As for Garden City, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 9-1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Advanced Tech Academy will face off against Canton Preparatory at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Advanced Tech Academy will be up against Canton Preparatory's rather soft defense (which has allowed 6.5 goals per match), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Garden City, they will head out on the road to face off against Romulus at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Garden City are facing Romulus at the right time seeing as Romulus are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
