Preview: Bristow Pirates vs. Cushing Tigers
The Bristow Pirates will head out on the road to square off against the Cushing Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Bristow is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
Bristow posted their closest win yet this season on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Sperry and snuck past 47-45.
Bristow's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Addi Alexander, who scored 16 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Abby Morgan, who scored 14 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Cushing, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 62-44 loss to Cleveland on Tuesday. Cushing has not had much luck with Cleveland recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Bristow is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. As for Cushing, their loss dropped their record down to 2-13.
Everything came up roses for Bristow against Cushing in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 as the team secured a 66-26 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bristow since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
