Softball Game Preview: Edgerton Crimson Tide vs. Clinton Cougars

The Edgerton Crimson Tide will face off against the Clinton Cougars at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Edgerton has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since the 14th.

Monday just wasn't the day for Edgerton's offense. They came up short against Jefferson on Monday, falling 14-0.

Meanwhile, Clinton narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Evansville 5-3. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Blue Devils recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Andie Bell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one walk in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Clinton saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maycee Morris, who went 3-for-4 with one run. Keylee VanderPahl was another, going 1-for-4 with three RBI.

Clinton's victory bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Edgerton, their loss dropped their record down to 1-10.

Edgerton came out on top in a nail-biter against Clinton when the teams last played back in May of 2024, sneaking past 5-3. Do the Crimson Tide have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cougars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
