Williamson suffered their closest defeat since April 24, 2024 on Thursday. They fell just short of the Clyde-Savannah Golden Eagles by a score of 13-11. On the bright side, the 11- run performance marked the Marauders' highest-scoring contest to date.

Caiden Watson was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He struck out nine batters over 4.1 innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. Watson was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs.

In other batting news, Myles Wurtz was cooking despite his team's loss, going 4-for-5 with three runs and three RBI. Joey VanLare was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

This is the second loss in a row for Williamson and nudges their season record down to 3-3. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 8-3 Gananda Central (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 61.4% over those games). As for Clyde-Savannah, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-5 record this season.

Williamson wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 13-3 win against Lyons on the 5th. As for Clyde-Savannah, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 8-0 loss against Gananda Central on the 5th.
