Basketball Recap: Caldwell Comes Up Short

Caldwell was the 62-55 winner over Westwood when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Caldwell Chiefs fell 64-51 to the Westwood Cardinals on Saturday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Chiefs came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 47th, while the Cardinals are ranked 171st).

Caldwell's defeat dropped their record down to 12-4. As for Westwood, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-9.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Caldwell will challenge Weequahic on Thursday. As for Westwood, they will take on Vernon on Thursday.
