Volleyball Recap: Washington County's Losing Streak Snapped at Five Games

Washington County came into Saturday's matchup having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Presentation Toppers on Saturday. The Commanders were shut out 2-0 the last time they took on the Toppers, so the Commanders were just returning the favor.

Washington County found their leader in sophomore Claire Mattingly, who had 11 digs and four aces. Those four aces set a new season-high mark for Mattingly. Tatum Yates also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Washington County's victory bumped their record up to 9-14. As for Presentation, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-12.

Washington County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-1 win against Bullitt Central on the 11th. As for Presentation, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-1 defeat against Bracken County on the 11th.
