The Buena Park Coyotes will face off against the Diamond Ranch Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.

Buena Park is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Canyon on Wednesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Coyotes were beaten by the Cowboys 62-34.

Despite their defeat, Buena Park saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Ernesto Portas, who posted eight points and seven rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Portas is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in each of the last four games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Robert Olea, who put up nine points and five boards.

Meanwhile, Diamond Ranch had to kick off their season on the road on Monday, but they showed no ill effects. They strolled past Arroyo with points to spare, taking the game 48-33. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Knights recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
