Basketball Game Preview: Anselmo-Merna Coyotes vs. Ravenna Bluejays

The Anselmo-Merna Coyotes will take on the Ravenna Bluejays in a tournament on Friday. Anselmo-Merna is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.

Last Thursday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Anselmo-Merna beat Mullen 49-44.

Dane Duryea was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 12 rebounds. His morning made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Colin Wright was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 14 points and nine boards.

Meanwhile, Ravenna came into Thursday's contest having lost six straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 53-42 victory over Southern Valley on Thursday. The Bluejays' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

The win got Anselmo-Merna back to even at 3-3. As for Ravenna, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Anselmo-Merna strolled past Ravenna in their previous meeting back in December of 2021 by a score of 59-42. Will Anselmo-Merna repeat their success, or does Ravenna have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
