Football Recap: Hackley Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Hackley extended their winning streak to three on Friday, bumping them up to 3-0. They strolled past the Rye Country Day Wildcats with points to spare, taking the game 28-12. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Hornets also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2024.

As for Rye Country Day, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-1. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jonah Zeiden, who rushed for 53 yards and one score on only seven carries, and also caught one touchdown. Charlie Pearle also helped out with an impressive 82 receiving yards.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Hackley is set to square off against their familiar foe Hopkins at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Rye Country Day will take on rival King at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
