Soccer Game Preview: Oceanside vs. Cony

The Oceanside Mariners will square off against the Cony Rams at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Oceanside's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They won by a goal and slipped past Lawrence 1-0. The victory continues a trend for Oceanside in their matchups with Lawrence: they've now won three in a row.

Meanwhile, Cony and Winthrop finished up their match with a 1-1 draw on Thursday.

The Rams' goal came courtesy of Khloe Price, which was the first she's scored this season.

With that draw, Cony's record moves to 2-5-4. As for Oceanside, their win bumped their record up to 2-8.

Everything went Oceanside's way against Cony when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as Oceanside made off with a 6-0 victory. Will the Mariners repeat their success, or do the Rams have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
