Football Game Preview: Provo Bulldogs vs. Mountain View Bruins

Provo is a perfect 4-0 against Mountain View since September of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Bulldogs are taking a road trip to challenge the Bruins at 7:00 p.m. Provo will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Provo is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Uintah 64-2 on Friday. The Bulldogs' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Provo's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Gehrig Orchard led the charge by throwing for 316 yards and six TDs while completing 76.5% of his passes. What's more, Orchard racked up 157.5 passer rating, the most he's had since back in October of 2024. Ronnie Wright was another key pass catcher, picking up 150 receiving yards and four scores.

Meanwhile, Mountain View played a tough contest on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against Salem Hills, falling 42-7. The Bruins haven't had much luck with the Skyhawks recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Mountain View's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Provo, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Wednesday's matchup will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Orchard and Tate Johnson. Orchard just won't slow down this season and has thrown 22 touchdowns while averaging 237.1 passing yards per game. Johnson has been a dominant force too and has averaged 211 passing yards per game.

Everything came up roses for Provo against Mountain View when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 62-24 win. In that game, the Bulldogs amassed a halftime lead of 55-10, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Wednesday.
