Newtown is a perfect 8-0 against Stratford since October of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Nighthawks will head out to challenge the Red Devils at 6:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Newtown is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Connecticut's top teams: Windsor, who was ranked 14th at the time (Newtown was ranked 15th). The Nighthawks fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 34-31 on Friday.

Meanwhile, Stratford ended up a good deal behind Notre Dame Prep on Friday and lost 26-7. The loss put an end to the Red Devils' undefeated start to the season.

Newtown now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Stratford, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Everything came up roses for Newtown against Stratford in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 42-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Nighthawks since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
