Southridge is 3-0 against North Miami Beach since January of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Southridge Spartans will be taking part in a tournament against the North Miami Beach Chargers at 7:00 p.m. Southridge is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.8 points per game this season.
Southridge saw some tournament action on Monday. They took a 57-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of Creekside. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Southridge saw an underclassman step up: freshman Sakura Barnes went 5 of 11 on her way to 12 points in addition to six boards and five steals. Barnes is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least three every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Dianka Hardisson, who posted 11 points.
Even though they lost, Southridge was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Creekside only racked up nine assists.
Meanwhile, everything came up roses for North Miami Beach against Edison last Monday as the squad secured a 74-17 victory. The Chargers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 30 points or more this season.
North Miami Beach's win came from a few key players Southridge will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Laila Henderson, who went 8 for 12 en route to 23 points and seven rebounds. That's the most points she has posted since back in December of 2023. Serena Volcy was another key player, going 6 of 10 on her way to 13 points along with seven boards and six assists.
North Miami Beach has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.5 points per game. As for Southridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-9.
Keep an eye on the arc in Wednesday's match: Southridge has been dynamite from deep this season, having made 43.8% of their three-pointers per game. It's a different story for North Miami Beach, though, as they've only made 19.2% of their three-pointers this season. Given Southridge's sizable advantage in that area, North Miami Beach will need to find a way to close that gap.
Everything came up roses for Southridge against North Miami Beach in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, as the team secured a 47-9 win. Will Southridge repeat their success, or does North Miami Beach have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
