Baseball Recap: Northside Christian Takes a Loss

Northside Christian fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against IMG Academy Gray on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (8-4), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. They were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Ascenders apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Northside Christian got a good showing from Rhett Wilson, who tossed 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Furthermore, Wilson didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in February of 2024.

At the plate, Gabe Currier was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 3-for-5. Luke Anderson also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Northside Christian's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for IMG Academy Gray, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-1.

Looking ahead, Northside Christian will be playing in front of their home fans against Palm Harbor University at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for IMG Academy Gray, they will take on Mobile Christian in a tournament on Thursday.
