Basketball Game Preview: Soda Springs Cardinals vs. Wendell Trojans

The Soda Springs Cardinals will challenge the Wendell Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Soda Springs is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.

Soda Springs can't be too worried about heading out to take on Wendell: they just beat Declo at home, who had been dominant on their own court up to that point. Soda Springs snuck past Declo with a 48-44 victory on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Wendell posted their closest win since December 10, 2024 on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past West Side 60-57. The win was familiar territory for the Trojans, who have now won three matches in a row.

Soda Springs better keep an eye on Jonathan Swainston. He was instrumental in Wendell's win, going 11-for-19 to rack up 30 points. Swainston continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordon Swainston, who posted 12 points along with six assists and six boards.

Soda Springs' record now sits at 14-9. As for Wendell, their record now sits at 16-6.

Soda Springs skirted past Wendell 51-48 in their previous matchup on February 5th. The rematch might be a little tougher for Soda Springs since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
