Bear River suffered their biggest defeat since May 7, 2024 on Tuesday. They came up short against the Westlake Charter Explorers, falling 3-0. The Bruins' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

While Bear River was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-16, 25-23.

Kyle Smith paced Bear River's offense, picking up 14 kills. Smith got some help from Ethan Tucker and his 28 assists. Smith was also solid from the service line: he led the team with two aces.

Bear River's defeat dropped their record down to 17-4. As for Westlake Charter, they pushed their record up to 15-8 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home.

Bear River wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Marysville on the 9th. As for Westlake Charter, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against Leroy Greene Academy on the 9th.
