Solon is 8-2 against Williamsburg since June of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Spartans will head out to  face off against the Raiders  at 5:00  p.m. Solon will be strutting in after a  win while Williamsburg will be coming in after a  loss.
Solon can't be too worried about heading out to take on Williamsburg: they just beat Algona at home, who had been dominant on their own field up to that point. The Spartans narrowly escaped with a  victory as the  team sidled past the Bulldogs  12-11. Solon's win was all the more impressive since the Bulldogs were averaging only 3.41 runs allowed on the season.
 Meanwhile, Williamsburg was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight  defeat. They came up short against  West Delaware, falling  12-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest  loss the Raiders have suffered  against the Hawks since July 6, 2017.
 Solon now  has a winning record of 9-8. As for Williamsburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-9.
 Solon was able to grind out a solid  victory over Williamsburg when the teams last played  back in June of 2024, winning  5-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Spartans since the  squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
