Football Recap: Zarephath Academy Takes a Loss

After soaring to 44 points the game before, Zarephath Academy was a bit more limited in their match on Friday. They had to suffer through a 46-6 loss at the hands of the Middleburg Broncos. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 386th, while the Broncos are ranked 171st).

Middleburg found their leader in sophomore Braydon Ventura, who rushed for 91 yards and a pair of scores on only nine carries, and also caught one touchdown. Mason Bacus was another key player, throwing for 157 yards and a pair of TDs.

Zarephath Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Middleburg, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Looking ahead, Zarephath Academy will challenge Lafayette at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will need to watch out since the Hornets have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. As for Middleburg, they will face off against Ridgeview at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
