Volleyball Recap: St. Augustine Takes a Loss

After flying high against Menendez on Tuesday, St. Augustine came back down to earth. The Yellow Jackets lost 3-0 to the Spruce Creek Hawks on Wednesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in March.

While St. Augustine was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Spruce Creek's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-17, 25-18.

St. Augustine has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 12 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season. As for Spruce Creek, they now have a winning record of 11-10.

Looking ahead, St. Augustine will challenge Bartram Trail at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Spruce Creek does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
