Baseball Recap: Boys' Latin Charter Starts Season with Victory at Home

Boys' Latin Charter took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Friday. They put the hurt on the Roxborough Wolves with a sharp 17-0 victory. That's more bragging rights for Boys' Latin Charter, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Boys' Latin Charter let Elijah Phillips and Sebastian Hernandez run wild. Phillips scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-2, while Hernandez scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Chris Dempsey, who scored a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Boys' Latin Charter didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 11-9 win against Prep Charter on the 18th. As for Roxborough, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 7-0 victory against Science Leadership Academy at Beeber on the 18th.
