Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Roanoke Rapids walked away with it. Their defense stepped up to hand the South Lenoir Blue Devils an 8-0 shutout on Monday. The result was nothing new for Roanoke Rapids, who have now won 11 contests by three goals or more so far this season.

Casey Neal and Claire Walker scored all eight of Roanoke Rapids' goals, bringing their combined season tally to 68 goals.

The win was the third in a row for Roanoke Rapids, bringing their record up to 18-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 17 goals over those three matchups. As for South Lenoir, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season.
