Softball Recap: Todd County Central Triumphs

While Todd County Central's victory against Hopkins County Central wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Rebels won by a run and slipped past the Storm 8-7. The win continues a trend for the Rebels in their matchups with the Storm: they've now won eight in a row.

Olivia Weikel spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and three unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up ten Ks.

At the plate, Todd County Central let Isabelle Hightower and Addison Woodall run wild. Hightower scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4, while Woodall scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. Those three hits gave Hightower a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Madison Wade, who got no hits from her three at bats.

Todd County Central's record now sits at 6-2. As for Hopkins County Central, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight games. That's still a better percentage than their 1-11-1 record this season.
