After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Lyon County, Caldwell County was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They blew past the Crittenden County Rockets 15-4. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won 12 matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Scott Cortner and Channing Puckett were major factors while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Cortner tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Puckett tossed 2.2 innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. Cortner has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. At the plate, Cortner went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run, while Puckett went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Puckett has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Collin Whittington was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Paul Fallgreen, who earned four runs and two stolen bases.

Caldwell County's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 21-5. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games.
