Volleyball Recap: Wausa Vikings vs. Wynot Blue Devils

After flying high against Winside on Monday, Wausa came back down to earth. The Vikings lost 3-0 to the Wynot Blue Devils on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blue Devils this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 two weeks ago.

The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-19, 25-17.

Wausa's offense was headlined by Mackenzie Suhr and Reagan Gillilan, who picked up three kills apiece. They got some help from Kenley Anderson and her ten assists. Finally, Gillilan was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high four blocks.

Among those leading the charge was Kiera Heimes, who had eight digs.

Wausa's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 12-18. As for Wynot, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 17 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-4 record this season.

Wausa does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Wynot, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Paxton on the 1st.
