Leigh is 8-2 against Westmont since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. Leigh will host Westmont at 4:00 p.m. Leigh will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.

On Saturday, Leigh beat Piedmont Hills 9-6.

Lance Takamura and Cooper Low made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Takamura tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Low pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. That's the fewest hits Takamura has allowed since back in March of 2024. At the plate, Takamura scored a run while going 2-for-4, while Low scored a run while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Dylan Christian, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon Kim, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Leigh was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .462. The last time their batting average was this high was back in May of 2024.

Meanwhile, Westmont didn't have quite enough to beat Sequoia on Friday and fell 8-7. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kainoa Raub was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. Brayden Casillas was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.

Leigh's victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-1. As for Westmont, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6-1.

Leigh came out on top in a nail-biter against Westmont in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, sneaking past 4-3. Does Leigh have another victory up their sleeve, or will Westmont turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
