Volleyball Recap: Foothills Christian Takes a Loss

After flying high against Del Lago Academy on Monday, Foothills Christian came back down to earth. The Knights fell just short of the Classical Academy Caimans by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The loss continues a trend for the Knights in their meetings with the Caimans: they've now lost six in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Foothills Christian lost, don't look at Olivia Morr. Despite the final result, she had seven digs and two aces. Morr has been hot, having also posted 13 or more assists the last five times she's played.

Classical Academy was led to victory by Hannah Johnson and Haley Thatcher. Johnson had 15 digs and one assist, while Thatcher hit 66.7% for nine kills and 11 digs and five aces. The last time Thatcher's hitting percentage was this high was over her last two contests. Another player making a difference was Serenity Munster, who had nine digs and one assist.

Foothills Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 20-12. As for Classical Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-7 record this season.
