Basketball Recap: Vance County Takes a Loss

Vance County was the 59-57 winner over Corinth Holders when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Vance County Vipers fell to the Corinth Holders Pirates 60-56.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Corinth Holders to victory, but perhaps none more so than Joshua Meeks, who posted 16 points. That's the most points Meeks has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of James Hemby, who earned six points along with 12 boards and three blocks.

Vance County's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Corinth Holders, they moved to 1-10 with that win, which also ended their 25-game losing streak.

Vance County and Northwest Halifax will round out the year against one another at at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Northwest Halifax will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Vance County surely won't give up without a fight. As for Corinth Holders, they will take on Henderson Collegiate at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Corinth Holders is facing Henderson Collegiate at the right time seeing as Henderson Collegiate is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
