Volleyball Recap: Washougal Panthers vs. Woodland Beavers

Washougal was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Woodland Beavers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Beavers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 on October 2nd.

Washougal took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 20-25, 18-25, 25-21, 15-10.

Ainsley Prynne paced Washougal's offense, picking up 17 kills. Prynne got some help from Madeline Cooley and her 11 assists. Cooley also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Paige Wilkinson, each putting up three.

Washougal's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9-1. As for Woodland, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matches. Washougal will face off against Centralia at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Woodland, after both having extra time off, they and Tumwater will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 4:00 p.m. on the 6th.
