Baseball Recap: James Clemens Takes a Loss

After flying high against Riverdale on Thursday, James Clemens came back down to earth. James Clemens fell just short of the South Hills Huskies by a score of 5-3 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Jets have suffered since April 18, 2024.

Hudson Smith was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI. That stolen base marked the first that he snagged this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryson Hodge, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

James Clemens' defeat dropped their record down to 18-8. As for South Hills, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-5.

James Clemens didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 5-2 victory against South Elgin on the 28th. As for South Hills, they will venture away from home to take on Alta Loma at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The last three games Alta Loma has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
