Softball Game Preview: Alhambra Moors vs. Bishop Conaty-Loretto Wildcats

The Alhambra Moors will take on the Bishop Conaty-Loretto Wildcats at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Alhambra is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.

Alhambra couldn't beat Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary on Tuesday even though they stacked six runs on them in the fourth inning. The Moors fell just short of the Cardinals by a score of 10-9. The Moors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Melina Baker-Avila was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Bishop Conaty-Loretto played against Camino Nuevo Dalzell Lance Campus on Monday and won via forfeit.

Bishop Conaty-Loretto is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. As for Alhambra, their loss dropped their record down to 4-15.

Everything went Alhambra's way against Bishop Conaty-Loretto in their previous meeting back in June of 2021, as Alhambra made off with a 17-0 win. Will the Moors repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
