Soccer Recap: Shadow Ridge Wins Going Away Against O'connor

Shadow Ridge kept a clean sheet against O'Connor on Friday. They put the hurt on the O'Connor Eagles with a sharp 3-0 win. Given the Stallions' advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona soccer rankings (they are ranked 17th, while the Eagles are ranked 70th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Nathan Johansen and Jacob Engwall scored all three of Shadow Ridge's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 13 goals.

The victory made it two in a row for Shadow Ridge and bumps their season record up to 7-5-2. As for O'Connor, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Shadow Ridge will venture away from home to challenge Tolleson at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Tolleson's last three matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for O'Connor, they will head out on the road to take on Boulder Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Boulder Creek is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 4.9 goals per game this season.
