There's no place like home for IMG Academy Royal, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They walked away with a 7-3 victory over the Charlotte Fightin' Tarpons on Friday. For the Ascenders, this counts as revenge for the 5-4 win the Fightin' Tarpons walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

The team relied heavily on Hayden Waller, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaxson Vassallo, who scored two runs while going 1-for-4.

IMG Academy Royal has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. The loss snapped Charlotte's winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 13-7 record.

IMG Academy Royal wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 7-6 win against Auburndale on the 28th. As for Charlotte, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Bonita Springs at 7:00 p.m. Charlotte's pitchers better be ready for this one: Bonita Springs has averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season.
