Basketball Game Preview: Bishop Gorman Gaels vs. Liberty Patriots

The Bishop Gorman Gaels will take on the Liberty Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

On Wednesday, Bishop Gorman got the win against Desert Pines by a conclusive 61-41. Given the Gaels' advantage in MaxPreps' Nevada basketball rankings (they are ranked third, while the Jaguars are ranked 28th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Liberty on Wednesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew Arbor View out of the water with a 57-27 final score.

Bishop Gorman better keep an eye on Satsuki Bradley. She was instrumental in Liberty's win, putting up 14 points in addition to eight boards and eight steals. Those eight steals gave Bradley a new career-high. Neviah Nick was another key player, earning 14 points and four steals.

Liberty smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in six consecutive games.

Bishop Gorman has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 34.9 points. As for Liberty, their win bumped their record up to 13-7.
