Preview: Tri-Valley Bulldogs vs. Minersville Battlin' Miners
The Tri-Valley Bulldogs will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Minersville Battlin' Miners at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Monday, Tri-Valley blew past Northern Lebanon, posting a 55-27 victory on the road. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Tri-Valley.
Meanwhile, Minersville didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Mount Carmel on Tuesday, but they still walked away with a 59-53 win.
Minersville's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Shazier Bethea, who scored 16 points along with 5 rebounds and 5 steals. Bethea is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Dante Carr was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with 9 rebounds.
Tri-Valley's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Minersville, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Tri-Valley beat Minersville 52-40 in their previous meeting back in January. Will Tri-Valley repeat their success, or does Minersville have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
