Baseball Recap: Lafayette Comes Up Short

Lafayette managed to slip by Southside the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. Lafayette came up short against Southside on Thursday, falling 9-1. The Lions were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Sharks earlier this season, when they won 2-1.

Lafayette has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-8 record this season. Southside is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-9-1 record this season.

Lafayette didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, an 8-4 loss against Sulphur on the 29th. As for Southside, they have also already played their next contest, a 6-5 defeat against Acadiana on the 28th.
