Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Thousand Islands). They breezed past the Bishop Grimes Cobras to the tune of 46-18 on Friday. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 46-6.

Thomas Bernhardt had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 175 yards and one score while picking up 10.9 yards per carry, and also threw for 71 yards and a pair of TDs. Those 175 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jacob Coyne, who gained 50 total yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Thousand Islands was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 238 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

The victory got Thousand Islands back to even at 3-3. As for Bishop Grimes, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Thousand Islands will face off against Morrisville-Eaton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Vikings will need to watch out since the Mavericks have now posted at least 31 points in their last four matchups. Bishop Grimes does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
