Softball Recap: Long Triumphs

It was close, but on Saturday the Long Rebels sidestepped the Prattville Lions for a 5-4 win.

Long let Anna Claire Free and Kayli Cordell run wild. Free went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base, while Cordell went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run. Carlie Davis was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Long lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted in their last 15 contests.

Long's victory bumped their record up to 31-9. As for Prattville, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-16.

Long wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 7-3 win against Maplesville on the 19th. As for Prattville, they have also already played their next game, a 4-3 loss against Saint James on the 21st.
